Pigeon Express
VISUAL IDENTITY
The Brief
A visual identity project for a courier company using a name provided. I wanted to produce a logo that integrates an easily recognisable icon and the name of the business.
Ideation
My immediate challenge was how I could implement the image of a pigeon into the logo without seeming too unprofessional or unsuitable. I sketched many ideas out on paper, playing with the letter “P” and integrating it with an icon, or adding graphical elements to the type.
Production
I used the Adobe Illustrator pen tool to make a vector version of the logo from my sketches. I took inspiration from a pigeon’s plumage and used a light and dark teal as the brand’s primary colours. The monochromatic colour palette looks professional and sleek. To present, we produced a book similar to a brand book, which included the finished logo, style guide, and mockups.
With some feedback later in the process, in preparation for my portfolio, the logo was revised to be simpler and cleaner.
