Endangered Birds of Australia
INFOGRAPHIC
The Brief
This project required an infographic design based on a topic of choice. It focused on using graphic elements to help deliver information to the viewer in an easily digestable and appealing way.
Ideation
Choosing my topic, I first researched endangered birds of Australia and was able to select 6 birds to use in my infographic. I then sketched thumbnails of the overall layout, focusing on creating a “flow” of information to make it easier for the viewer to follow. For the style of the poster, I was inspired by illustrated vintage travel posters.
Production
I drew the birds digitally using Procreate on iPad, then used image trace on Adobe Illustrator to convert them into vector graphics. I also used Adobe Illustrator to create graphic elements, such as the wavy shapes in the background, and stylise the title. I then transferred all my graphic elements into Adobe InDesign, where I focused on implementing the body copy using paragraph and character styles.
