I had the opportunity to design some promotional posters for Cafe Once Upon a Time located in West Ryde.

One was a point of sale poster for three new drinks arriving at the cafe, influenced by trending cafe beverages.

Later on, I was commissioned for another poster promoting their newly revised specials.

The new beverages were all iced drinks, ready to be sold for the upcoming Spring and Summer, so I wanted to create a poster that felt positive and bright like the warmer months.

One of my initial tasks was to edit the images I had been given. I was able to use Photoshop to effectively mask and isolate the subject, and at the client’s request, I edited the colours to really make the drinks pop!

I made sure to experiment with lots of variations of the posters’ colours, composition and layouts, and fonts to explore my options.

I had open communication with my client to discuss the designs over the process, and came out with a high quality result and a happy client.

The satisfaction of my work from the client became evident as they commissioned me to design another poster for their cafe.

While simpler in requirements, I was able to produce a poster that felt consistent with the previous one, enabling a uniform look to their ongoing marketing material. You can view that poster above.
