Overview
Better Bites derived from a project focusing on UX/UI and designing a delivery app with a process including market research, analysis, testing, wireframing, and prototyping.
Better Bites provides a variety of goods including cookies, biscuits, muffins, cakes, and more, with a focus on being health conscious and providing for those who have specific dietary needs.
This project was my first in-depth use of Figma, wherein I learnt how to use frames, apply prototype functionality, and create components and instances.

Ideation
The project brief guided the process of researching, analysing, applying and testing, wireframing, and then prototyping.
Not only was it important to truly understand the target audience, such as creating profiles from market research, but also the flow of user experience. This included creating user flow diagrams and value charts.
Before going straight into prototyping on Figma, it was important to create wireframes and test the app layout and flow. This was done by presenting the wireframes to others and gaining their feedback to further refine our designs.
Production
Production took place on Figma.
As my first in-depth encounter with the tool, there was a lot to learn but I greatly enjoyed improving on my Figma skills and researching on how to achieve certain functions that I envisioned for this app.
To maintain a friendly feel, I chose a round and bubbly font for the logo and played with the “bite” silhouette to keep it fun.
As for colours, it was a challenge to avoid the colour green when evoking a feeling of health and vitality, as it would imply healthy foods or meals more than sweets or desserts. Inspired by dried fruits and berries, found in many healthy desserts, I decided on this colour palette of a toned down magenta, complimented by a soft blue.
